This drawing is of a distant galaxy sketched by Betty Hill when she and her husband Barney were taken aboard a UFO in the 1960s. This galaxy has been identified as the Zeta Reticuli galaxy.The binary suns, Zeta 1 and Zeta 2 of the constellation Reticulum, located around 39 light years from us, have long been rumored to contain planets housing ETs who've visited Earth. Betty Hill, whose assertion that she was carried off by otherworldly beings in 1961 inspired a national obsession with alien abduction that remains a staple of American popular culture, died on Sunday, October 17, 2004, at her home in Portsmouth, N.H. She was 85.In 1961 in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, coming home from a trip from Canada, Betty and Barney Hill spotted a light in the sky. Thinking it might have been an asteroid coming in they kept a close eye on the bright object. Later Barney thought it might be a military plane of some sort. She stopped the car and he took his binoculars out to have a look. What he saw frightened him. He saw a craft with strange beings looking at him from lighted windows. One of the beings grinned which sent him running back to the car believing they were going to be captured. Betty and Barney heard several beeps and further down the road they encountered what they believed were nine men in the road. The car came to a stop and Betty and Barney were taken from their car by beings that were not from this world. They were taken on board an alien craft and they were both examined. Betty engaged the beings in conversation and seemed to have more rein while aboard the craft. She was shown a star map and given a book. After some conversation between the beings, it was decided that she would not be allowed to leave with the book. Betty and Barney were returned to the car and they continued their trip home. Two hours were missing from their timetable and after working with Dr. Simon, under hypnosis, a story so extraordinary began to unfold. A Boston newspaper picked up he story and ran it for five days. The story was picked up by newspapers around the world. Betty and Barney Hill's story became a part of history. Most people believe that was the end of their story...in reality it was just the beginning.

CoasttoCoastAm.com, Consultant Bill Ryan, retired US Military Intelligence Officer Richard Doty, and author Whitley Strieber all discussed Project Serpo on , an alleged secret exchange program of 12 military personnel to Serpo, a planet of Zeta Reticuli, between the years 1965-78. Ryan explained that he is a participant in a private ufology email forum and that in early November 2005, an "anonymous" contributor began revealing information about the Serpo Project, which Ryan has subsequently chronicled on his website serpo.org.
Two other sources have also come forward, and all three are supposedly retired employees of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), said Ryan, who added that there is a total of 3,000 pages of information on the project that is being released in installments. According to the "anonymous" source, Serpo is an Earth-sized planet with a population of around 650,000 "ebens" (our name for the ETs). An eben who allegedly survived the Roswell crash was said to have used a communication device to set up the exchange. Of the 12 who went on the exchange, eight returned (though all have since died), two died on Serpo, and two remained there. Ryan believes that the story has credibility partially because some of the physics don't add up, and if someone was fabricating it all, they would have presented more consistent details.
Strieber shared an incident that took place at a UFO conference in Gulf Breeze, Florida in the early 90's when an elderly gentleman told him he could prove he was from another planet, saying only one word after that-- Serpico. He now wonders if he misheard the word, and the man was actually saying Serpo. Doty said he was at first skeptical of the Project Serpo information, but later heard rumors within the intelligence community that the story is in fact true.
